Support for Newly-Qualified Occupational Therapists

This is a challenging profession, especially for those new to the role. For newly-qualified occupational therapists in their first year in employment we mirror the programme we provide for new social workers with comprehensive support, mentoring and learning. We’re proud of the feedback we receive from colleagues highlighting how this has helped them develop skills, knowledge and professional confidence.

Learning, Development and Accreditation

You’ll have access to a wide range of learning and development opportunities, including:

  • Internal training in key areas like strength-based practice, continuing healthcare, evidence-based decision-making, mental capacity and safeguarding
  • Professional development workshops focusing on specific practice issues for OTs
  • Accredited Post-Qualifying modules through our local University as well as vocational qualifications like the Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care
  • Leadership and manager development.

High Quality Practice Placements

We work in partnership with our local university to provide excellent work-based placements for Occupational Therapy students.
